Why we built ExpenseDesk Pro for handymen — and why it’ll stay cheap

We didn’t build ExpenseDesk Pro in an office. We built it on jobsites — because that’s where the work actually happens, and that’s where every other tool let us down.

What ExpenseDesk Pro actually is

ExpenseDesk Pro is an all-in-one app for running a contracting or handyman business from your phone. Jobs, scheduling, time and mileage, expenses, daily logs with photos, invoices and online payments, change orders, job costing, a client portal, and QuickBooks export — all in one place, in English or Spanish, without a stack of disconnected apps or a graveyard of spreadsheets.

The idea is simple: log the work where you do it — on site, on your phone — and let the money side fill itself in. Invoices, costs, margins, the books: no double entry, no “I’ll sort the receipts on Sunday.”

Why we made it for handymen and small crews

The big platforms — the ones that cost hundreds a month and take a week to set up — were built for general contractors running million-dollar commercial jobs. If you’re a handyman, a remodeler, a painter, or a two-person crew, those tools are overkill, overpriced, and honestly not built with you in mind.

But you have the exact same problems the big guys do: getting paid on time, knowing if a job actually made money, keeping clients happy, keeping crews organized, staying on top of the paperwork. You just don’t have an office manager or a $500-a-month software budget to solve them.

So we built the tool we wished we had: everything a small contractor needs, nothing they don’t, running on the phone that’s already in their pocket.

Bilingual, on purpose

Construction runs on bilingual crews, so ExpenseDesk Pro works in English and Spanish end to end. A foreman can run the office side in English while the crew logs time, expenses, and photos in Spanish on their own phones. Nobody gets left out of the tool that runs the business.

Why we’ll keep it cheap

Here’s our promise, and we mean it: ExpenseDesk Pro stays affordable for the people it’s built for. One flat, honest price — not per-seat pricing that punishes you for adding a crew member, not a “call us for enterprise pricing” runaround, not a teaser rate that quietly triples once you depend on it.

We keep it cheap because we can, and because it’s the whole point. Software gets cheaper to run every year; we’d rather pass that on than pad a margin. A handyman shouldn’t have to choose between running their business professionally and making rent. If the big platforms won’t serve the small operator fairly, we will.
